SUICIDE DRONES BY THE MALIAN ARMY AND THE AFRIKA KORPS STRUCK THE VILLAGE OF TALHANDAK NEAR THE ALGERIAN BORDER.

On July 17, a suicide drone struck the village of Talhandak – a commercial complex near the Algerian border – before being shot down. There are reports of civilian casualties.

Imouhag International condemns in the strongest terms these ongoing violations by the Malian army and the Russian contingent.

The victims are always unarmed civilians, the majority of whom are of African nationalities working in this complex.

Imouhagh International for Justice and Transparency is a human rights organization that has been documenting the situation of Tuareg communities in Sahel countries, particularly in Niger, Mali and Burkina Faso, for several years.

UPDATE: there were two Shahed-type drones, that came from the military base in Gao that struck the village of Talhandak the Algerian border.

One of the drones was shot down by the Azawad Liberation Front just before reaching the houses, while the other struck a civilian target.

The Malian army and its Russian mercenary partners have since long, targeted civilians fleeing the conflict towards the Algerian border.

They have recently used both illegal cluster bombs and now Iranian-made drones carrying toxic substances against the population.

These methods employed by the Malian army and the Russian mercenaries against the Arabo-Tuareg and other populations in Talahandak constitute serious crimes and war crimes.

Five individuals who were providing coordinates to the Malian army and the Russian Afrika Korps has been arrested.

For the moment: Two Shahed drones were sent towards northeast of Gao to bomb villages inhabited by civilians, under the pretext of fighting terrorism.
