Is Azawad the Gaza of the Sahara? there´s a genocide taking place in Azawad while the world is silent.
It’s a quiet genocide that has been going on since 1963 and it has escalated to involve both Turkish drones, support from the AES, cannibalism by the Malian army, the burning of lands and poisoning of both animals and people, random arrests and decapitations of civilians, kidnapping and killing of school teachers and sensless brutality by the Wagner mercenairies.
And Algeria is building a wall between itself and Azawad along a part of the border between the south of Algeria and Azawad (northern Mali) and refuses to give the refugees refugee status unlike Mauritania who is the only one known to try to help these poor refugees fleeing the exactions of the Malian army FAMa and the Wagner mercenaries as well as the various terrorist groups, (not to confuse them with the Azawad revolutionary army who are separatists fighting tor the freedom of the Azawadian people.)
The situation is like a “mini Gaza” in some way, if you wish, but different. With Azawad and Mali it´s all about greed for the land and a race-based attempt to push out the indigenous inhabitants to replace them with Malian people from the south.
Its a great injustice that is done to the people of Azawad and it´s an ancient conflict dating back to 1963. They have the right to their land and they know it. They fight not for money, they fight only for their land and their freedom. Thus, they never give up because they know it`s a just cause.
