Before Mali was created by France, Azawad existed, just like Azawagh (the northern part of today`s Niger)
When the colonialsm ended, it did not really end… because France found a way to try to keep their colonial power by creating the state of Mali and attach Azawad to it – against the consent and will of the Azawadian people, who are the original inhabitants. Thus – Mali became the extension of French colonialism.
And the Malian authorities neglected Azawad from the beginning, and oppressed them and started this genocide which today involves the Wagner since they never were able to defeat the Azawadian revolutionaries who reacted against the oppression with a firm resistance!
At the time, when Mali was created, the Malians did not even know what Mali was and this video here shows the answers by some Malians in Bamako in the 60s.
Translation of what is said in the video: “What is Mali? ask the reporter. Replies: “it`s too complicated”, “Mali is the RDA”, “Mali is a federation” – of which country? – “Of Senegal and Sudan”, “Mali is a political party…formed by African leaders” …
So, they had no idea what Mali was and that Mali was a piece of the former French Sudan transformed into a new state by France, called Mali. And which France also attached Azawad against the will of the Azawadian people.
Therefore, to say that Azawad has “occupied” northern “Mali” is either incredibly ignorant or deliberate propaganda against the liberation of Azawad, which is most likely, seeing to all the false propaganda that has emerged since the Azawad Liberation Front was formed, and especially since january.
Azawad is a territory that was annexed to Mali, and Azawagh was annexed to Niger.
And Mali is performing a genocide against the Azawadian population involving both Wagner, Turkish drones and even cannibalism. And no, we are not lying or exaggerating, there are plenty of documented evidence in both videos, photos and testimonies on the pages of Humanitarian organizations, among people and of course on the social media where people have posted a lot of recorded testimonies. They can never hide their crimes and what is hidden will always be revealed.
“Northern Mali” is not “Northern Mali” – it´s Azawad! the ancestral land of the Azawadian people who`s ancestors lived there and wrote on the rocks with their tifinagh writing, a writing that is still in use today, thousands of years later.
