Women of Azawad.. The pillar of steadfastness and the pulse of freedom! On this day, the eighth of March, we do not only celebrate, but we immortalize the struggle of Azawadi women and all women of the world in the battle for freedom and dignity.
This day is not a passing occasion, but a cry that crosses generations, reminding us that women’s rights were not granted, but were seized with countless sacrifices. In Azawad, where war, displacement and tragedies prevail, women were never marginal in the story, but were the story.
They were the fighters who carried the rifle in one hand, and the mother who carried her child in the other. They were the ones who bid farewell to their children to the battlefields, and the ones who carried the banner of identity in the face of obliteration, and the ones who shaped history with their tears and steadfastness.
A salute to every Azawadi woman who bore the pain and did not bow, to every mother who watched over a generation that would not accept submission, to every refugee who did not lose hope, to every fighter who made the enemy tremble, and to every worker who struggled silently in the face of oppression.
Today we affirm that our battle is not just words, but an ongoing action until freedom and equality become a reality and not a dream. Fight like the Azawadi woman!
The Commemoration of March 8, 2022 is a Reminder of the Pain and Suffering Experienced by the People of Azawad.

The commemoration of March 8, 2022 is a reminder of the pain and suffering experienced by the people of Azawad, especially the Idksahk tribe, which was subjected to a brutal massacre that did not limit itself to killing more than a thousand civilians, but was an attempt to destroy an entire social component. What happened in the areas of Tamalt, Adramboukar, Anouillane, Qardams, Silal, and even Talatit, indicates an unprecedented ethnic cleansing and genocide, and these events clearly demonstrated the systematic intent of extermination experienced by this tribe.
What makes these crimes even more heinous is the complete international silence towards these violations, and the silence of the international community in general, which makes these crimes a continuous extension of the lack of human justice. This disregard reinforces the state of indifference towards the suffering of oppressed peoples and encourages criminal forces to continue committing crimes against innocent people.
We demand a fair international investigation into those responsible for these massacres and to ensure that they are held accountable, and the necessity of involving independent human rights organizations in documenting what happened and revealing the truth.
The world cannot turn a blind eye to the massacre that took place against an oppressed and helpless people. Voices must be raised loudly to provide justice, pressure must be applied to international powers to hold the perpetrators accountable and prevent the continuation of these atrocities.
May God have mercy on the martyrs and grant them a place in His spacious gardens, and may God protect the remaining sons and daughters of Azawad from the brutality of the oppressors.
