NAMES ARE NOT JUST WORDS, THEY ARE IDENTITIES!

From “Sanhaja” to “Zenata,” from “Lamtuna” to “Tuareg,” these are all terms coined by colonialism and nationalist powers to tear apart the unity of a single people who have lived on this land since time immemorial. But they are not our true names!

The authentic Amazigh pronunciation has not disappeared; it has simply been forcibly withheld from us. But words reveal the truth: “Ano” lives on in the north and the south, and hundreds of other terms connect us to our roots. We are not “Berbers,” nor are we scattered peoples. We are Amazigh, sons of Tamazgha!

The problem is not with those who defend Amazigh, but with those who have surrendered to its erasure. But it is not the number that matters, it is the action! Through art, media, and education, we will reclaim our language and our dignity.

The question is not whether we are ready, but rather: How do we restore our identity without becoming consumed by internal conflicts that hinder our true liberation?
