A child cries out for help…
Ahmadou Ag Hamzata, 5 years old, is the grandson of Tan Mahamad Walet Mahamad, from Aghazraghane commune (Inekar circle, Menaka region, Azawad (northern Mali). In March 2022, his father was brutally executed by the #EIGS group. Ahmadou has since experienced a very serious disease threatening his life and causing immense suffering.
Today, he suffers from a serious and infected form of eczema, which eats away his fragile body and puts his life in danger. His refugee family’s extremely precarious living conditions in a border area allow him no access to essential care.
His condition requires an urgent medical evacuation. Every day without treatment, aggravates the suffering. This child of Azawad deserves, like all children in the world, to laugh, to play, to dream of a future.
This is a call to the international community, humanitarian NGOs, and all people of good will to take action. Let’s help Ahmadou get a chance to cure.
