A CIVILIAN FAMILY TRAGICALLY KILLED BY FAMA AND WAGNER

A CIVILIAN FAMILY TRAGICALLY KILLED BY FAMA AND WAGNER, WHO CAN STOP THESE MASSACRES?

Ena Ag Mohamed Elmoctar was an expatriate on family leave when Russian mercenaries and FAMAS executed him and his family. He was a humanitarian on leave to visit his mother after months of absence. He was on vacation with his wife, child and other family members to visit his mother in M’Berra in Mauritania when they encountered the Fama and Wagner patrol who brutally killed them all, even the baby. What hateful human beings… or are they really human beings?

This family were victims of a barbaric act, killed by the gunfire of Wagner’s forces and the FAMA (Malian Armed Forces) who shot at them, the car burned and the bodies of the victims were found in a well or barely hidden in the ground.

It is clear that civilians, even if they are of foreign origin, and especially if they are of Arab-Tuareg ethnicity, even those who (unfortunately) support the transition in Mali, cannot travel on the roads of Azawad without risking being attacked by a drone or by the terrorist duo Fama and Wagner who, in most cases, will kill them. And in a brutal, barbaric manner, summarily and indiscriminately, they kill them.

This is ethnic genocide.

The cruelty with which Fama and Wagner indulge in innocent civilians must stop! We call for the creation of an independent commission of inquiry to shed light on this tragic event and identify those responsible.

It is imperative that justice be rendered to all victims of this senseless violence that continues day after day, week after week, year after year… It is imperative that all humanitarians redouble their vigilance, particularly in the Azawad region, because information indicates that the Wagner group has received explicit orders to eliminate the Arab-Tamacheqs. And as we know, Wagner love brutality and they do anything for money.

This genocide of Azawadians is not a problem that has its roots from 2012 and the resistance of the Azawadian population or any of the former rebel uprisings, this goes back to the 1960s when France attached Azawad to Mali against the will of the indigenous population who were neglected and oppressed by Mali from the very beginning. The rebellions that followed was only their reaction and resistance to the unjust oppression, which is a genocide and it´s calculated.

All our thoughts are with the victims, the wounded and their loved ones. It is urgent that the countries that support the terrorist junta in Bamako in these massacres of civilian populations start to respect human rights.

Recent reports of atrocities perpetrated by the Malian Armed Forces and Wagner mercenaries against this vehicle carrying (09) nine people, including women and children, from the M’berra refugee camp in Mauritania and bound for Niono.

This vehicle belonged to the renowned transporter “Nelfo”, disappeared after leaving the camp, for two days. The concerned families of the passengers tried for a long time to obtain news, but on 4 January, they were faced with a terrible shock: the vehicle was violently attacked by a Malian army patrol and was reduced to ashes, near the village of Duma, on the road between Fassala and Niono.

The people of Azawad are demanding justice and calling for an independent investigation to shed light on these despicable attacks. Those responsible for these acts must be brought to justice in order to prevent such crimes from happening again in the future.

The international community and human rights organisations are also called upon to support this quest for justice and to strongly condemn these human rights violations.
