Abbas Ag Antala sends an open letter to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, demanding that he review Turkey’s positions in the Sahel, stop supporting oppressive regimes that use Turkish drones against civilians, and calls on him to choose to stand with the oppressed.
The conciliation commissioner in the Azwad Liberation Front, #Abbas_Ag_Intalla, called on Turkish President Recep Tayyip #Erdogan to review his positions in the Sahel countries. He also urged him to choose to stand with oppressed Muslim peoples, not with those who oppress them.
Ag Intalla added in an open letter addressed to Turkish President Recep Tayyip #Erdogan that he is writing this letter as part of the Islamic nation, which Turkey has always declared its support and defense.
Ag Intalla expressed his deep pain and extreme astonishment at what he sees as a clear contradiction between Turkey’s Islamic discourse and its political and field positions, particularly in the three African Sahel countries, and particularly the suffering of Muslims in the Sahel region.
He added, “How can #Turkey, which has presented itself as a supporter of the oppressed and the weak, provide drones and military equipment to regimes involved in campaigns of repression and genocide against a defenseless people whose only crime is demanding their legitimate rights to freedom, dignity, and justice?”
Ag Antala asked, “How can someone who raises the banner of Islam and addresses the nation in the name of justice send weapons to those who kill Muslims?”
He also asked, “How can Turkey, even unintentionally, be a partner in the oppression of a Muslim people who have suffered for years from exclusion, discrimination, and persecution, and are treated as strangers in their own homeland?”
