Look at this picture… the water is gushing out of a well through the holes by the bullets of guns. Water is a life-saver in the desert! Destroying water wells for the civilian people in a village is part of the scorched earth strategy. Or you can call it terrorism, in this case, state-terrorism.
This is the work of FAMa (the Malian army and Africa Corps and it was done this time in a village in the commune of Gargando, Akoumbou in the Tinbouctou region.
To those who are asking the population who once fled the exactions of the Malian army and Africa Corps ex Wagner to return… we say return to what? to this? or to get killed?
To quote Rhissa Ag – “Then there will be idiots who will try to sell us the image of a non-terrorist Mali. Shame on you!”
The Tuaregs of Mali are only “temporarily accepted” and called “dignified Tuaregs” as long as they deny their true identity, the existence of Azawad, support the junta that is terrorizing and killing their people, and label resistance to marginalization and oppression as “terrorism”.
In this logic (which is a strategy), all the peoples of the world who resist oppression and marginalization are then, “terrorists”.
It’s all about the attempt of total erasure of a people, physically, culturally, mentally (cultural-identity memory destruction) But cutting off roots that runs millenia deep into the desert sand is not possible because these roots are firmly anchored because that’s where they belong and always will belong.
So far… it has been “divide and rule” since even before the 1960s, NOT since 2012!!
But it would be both better and more profitable, honorable and dignified for Mali to recognize and accept their identity, and instead give the people of Azawad the autonomy or independence that is their right.
Instead of trying to force something they are not on them, and try to drive them out of their land destroying their means of existence. Then calling resistance against this oppression “terrorism”, what a shame!
UPDATE – (Source X) Wells and stores have been ransacked and pastures burned by the Malian Armed Forces and their Russian allies in #Akoumbou, in the cercle of #Goundam.
Serious acts that directly affect the means of survival of local populations…!
