The last strike of drones by the Malian army and Wagner hitting civilians in Talhandak on april 22, 2025, is an example of a policy used by the Bamako authorities. It’s a policy of collective punishment of any region suspected of sympathizing with Azawad resistance movements or refusing to submit to Malian military influence.
Among the most notable documented violations are:
Extrajudicial killings without trial or judicial process. – for example: According to reports – On April 25, 2025, 12 people were taken by Wagner from Tinbouctou to Inkorkor where they were summarily executed and then buried on the spot.
Arbitrary arrests and torture in secret prisons.
Burning of homes and camps and the displacement of families.
Destruction of civilian property, including cars and farms.
Environmental degradation resulting from the burning of forests and residential areas, as a form of coercive pressure on the local population.
And the International silence? As silent as graves…
This shameful silence must without a doubt have its own agenda. Is it all about sacrificing humanity on the blood soaked altar of interests and greed?
From the International organizations and the international community we see no verbal or written denunciations or condemnations, or any investigations and they remain suspiciously silent.
And in the meantime the Malian army and Wagner keep committing hideous crimes that are both war crimes and crimes against humanity.
When will the next hidden mass-grave with shot or decapitated civilian victims be discovered? when will the next drone strike hit a sleeping family or public bus? when will the next random person be arrested never to be seen again?
When will this evil madness stop?
Talhandak: A Call to the Global Conscience:
The Azawad Liberation Front urgently demands an urgent international investigation into the war crimes committed in northern Mali and an end to the political and diplomatic cover provided by the Malian authorities. It also calls for the demilitarization of Mali’s air force, or at least its international restriction in light of the current criminal use of drones.
What happened in Talhandak is not an exception; it is part of a long bloody series directed by Bamako and produced by Wagner, while being broadcast live before the eyes of the “civilized” world.
How long will Azawadi blood remain worthless? When will the global conscience move to save a people being slaughtered under the guise of the “war on terror”?
