Represented by its communication officer, Tohima Ag Libnina, Azawad Solidarity took part, on March 4, 2025, in a constructive meeting organized by the international pole of Caritas Alsace Réseau Secours Catholique, dedicated to the humanitarian crisis in the Sahel.
The discussions focused on the violence linked to the scorched earth policy and ethnic cleansing perpetrated by armed entities, in particular the Malian junta and Wagner. They also highlighted the suffering of civilians, both inside and outside Azawad.
Azawad Solidarity was praised for its commitment on the ground, in particular through emergency aid and the promotion of sustainable solutions. At the end of the discussions, Caritas affirmed its support for our actions, including the Strasbourg initiatives. Concrete means to strengthen their commitment are currently being discussed.
Azawad Solidarity wishes to collaborate with Caritas in order to benefit from its expertise, which will strengthen our capacity to support the forgotten populations of the Sahel.
