On January 28, 2025, a patrol of Russian mercenaries from the Wagner group and the Malian army, leaving Kidal, burst into Amassine where they beheaded five civilians.
After continuing their route to other localities in the Kidal region, this same patrol caused significant material damage, including the theft of property, destruction of homes and social infrastructure.
While firmly condemning these terrorist acts, the FLA calls on the international community and urges it to react to this open-air ethnic cleansing campaign carried out on the instructions of the Bamako military junta. The FLA offers its most sincere condolences to the families bereaved by this barbarity.
