FREEING INKINANE IS A MATTER OF JUSTICE

Stopping Inkinane Ag Attaher is hindering the education, health and development of nomadic desert children.

Freedom for #Inkinane Ag Attaher, a political prisoner in Niger for defending his people and ancestral territory.

The military hates those who educate the poor, the simple, those rejected by the hand of the Market for freedom. That is a reason why they kidnapped him labeling him as a “terrorist” and never gave any news about this young and dedicated Tuareg humanist, who has been fighting for the emancipation of his people on all fronts since he was a teenager.

His Literacy Manual in the Tuareg mother tongue is the result of his experience as a nomadic child who was not allowed to go to school due to exclusion from colonizing France, but who was taught to read and write by his mother in Tifinagh, the alphabet of his language, according to the ancient Tuareg tradition.

He fights against the disappearance of the Tuareg mother tongue along with the displacement of the people of Azawad, driven from the desert by state violence. The book was entirely researched, produced and provided to the desert communities by Inkinane himself.

Inkinane as their captive, is valuable for the military junta’s espionage because he is a strategist of the revolution.

But he is also a brother, a friend, a love for his little son, his family, friends and comrades in arms. What do they still want with him after all the time he has been in captivity? Eliminate him when the matter has been forgotten? We will not allow him to be forgotten!

The AES, the unification of the three coup-plotting military leaders who indoctrinate Sahelian society against democracy, offering nothing more than authoritarianism and violence, needs to be pressured to account for what it did to Inkinane and to abandon his unjustified imprisonment. It is intolerable that Netanyahu is setting an example around the world and no one is trying to stop this fall of humanity into the abyss of militarized authoritarian states that flout the law and carry out massacres of civilians with impunity.

The mistake of those who think that in some cases the ends justify the means is to forget that the plan always backfires when it comes to brutal dictatorships.

If you have any doubts, consult the reports of Human Rights Watch and the group of independent observers that monitors conflicts around the world, ACLED, and even government websites, including the Brazilian one. The Tuareg struggle is for the self-determination of their country Azawad, still tied to Mali by French strategy. It should not be confused with terrorism because it respects both international laws and human rights principles.

Freeing Inkinane is a matter of justice – unfortunately, it is the first democratic institution that the Sahelian military coup plotters have trampled under their boots. #freeinkinane

You can imprison a man but never his ideas. Touaregs of Azawad and Niger must demand Freedom for Inkinane.

Tohima Ag Liblina

Not releasing him is a hostile act. Inkinane is both a humanitarian and a freedom fighter for his oppressed people and a teacher, he is not a terrorist. May God help him and keep him safe. #FreeInkinane

Inknan Ag Attaher is a defender of his country Azawad and its people and an educator and professor and author who stands for human rights for all people. A leader, always defending his people and territory and who, in the field of education were a part of the establishment and opening of schools as well as Tifinagh school books both on and offline. The accusation of terrorism is unjust, illegal and illegitimate.

Professor and author Inknan Ag Altaher is both a respectd field commander in the Azawad Liberation Front and a teacher. He has remained a strong presence in the field of education and culture. He and his comrades have layed the foundations for what resembles a local intellectual renaissance in Azawad.

Today, another distinguished work bearing his name is added to his record of struggle: the preparation and development of curricula and the writing of textbooks in the Amazigh language and the Tifinagh alphabet.

This ambitious project makes him one of the first to venture into this vital field, as he insisted that these books be published in the ancient traditional Tifinagh alphabet, known in the region and still understandable and easy to read for many people, unlike modern versions that some may find difficult to understand.

A huge salute to Professor Inkanan, the author and man of letters, who continues his path with passion and awareness. We ask God to grant him success and guidance in his noble journey.

Free Inkinane safe and sound.

Remaining silent about the arrest of the honest activist Inkenan Ag Taher is a betrayal of the cause and the blood of the martyrs. If political means fail to achieve justice for him, those holding him should realize that Azawad has men who are not bound by borders and who do not accept injustice. Inkenan is a symbol, defending him is an honor, and remaining silent about him is a crime.

MESSAGE OF SUPPORT TO OUR BROTHER INKINANE AG ATTAHER

Message of support to our brother Inkinnane Ag Attaher. Today, I address my brother Inkinane Ag Attaher, unjustly arrested by the Nigerien authorities, as well as our dignified and upright people despite the ordeal. My brother, know that you are not alone. Your fight is our fight. Your suffering is ours.

I ask you to remain strong, patient, and confident, because nothing lasts forever, neither injustice nor chains. The oppressors can imprison you, but they cannot lock you up or extinguish the light you have sown. Arresting Inkinane Ag Attaher is like stopping education, silencing the voice of health, trying to extinguish the fire of development in the desert.

But what they don’t understand is that a man like him never disappears. Even in prison, his work continues to speak for him. He educated children, cared for the sick, and brought hope to regions forgotten by the entire world. He built an entire generation, and this generation will follow in his footsteps. They can stop him, but they cannot erase his traces. For a man like Inkinane leaves not only memories, he leaves a lasting mark, a mission, a vision.

To the entire world, I say this: if you doubt the greatness of our brother, look at history. All those who have left their mark on humanity were treated the same way before the truth came out. Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for 27 years for dreaming of an egalitarian world. Cheikh Ahmadou Bamba, Omar al-Mokhtar, Patrice Lumumba, Malcolm X, and so many others were all persecuted for refusing injustice.

Prison does not discredit a man of principle; it consecrates him. It does not weaken him; it reveals him. Yes, our brother Inkinane Ag Attaher is a hero of his people, a builder of the future. History will remember his name, and his fight will continue, because just ideas never die.

To you, my brother, I say: hold on. Chains break, truth triumphs, and the righteous always shine in the end, Insha’Allah. May Allah protect His servant with eternal mercy and under your eternal protection, Allahou m’amine.

I followed Justice when it called me, without expectations or conditions, patiently raising it to its throne. I gave without counting the cost, driven only by faith in what is just.

But once satisfied, those I had served turned their backs on me, used me, and then abandoned me to the fangs of ingratitude. When, wounded, I tried to defend myself, it was to them that all eyes and help were turned. Yet, every time I was needed, I returned, without resentment.

Even today, I am alone, stripped of everything, as if my devotion had never existed. But despite the pain, my heart remains faithful because nobility of soul demands neither recognition nor return.
