It`s with great distress we were reading the latest reports from Azawad, or one of them, because there are many, every single day there´s some kind of crime committed against the people of Azawad. Nothing is sacred for the junta militias and the Wagner mercenaries, or Africa Corps or whatever they want to call themselves. Criminals, terrorists, thieves and murderers is the right definition.
The latest sad report talks about a woman who was abducted in the area of Tisilit, and raped, according to reports, by the Malian forces and Wagner mercenaries, who stopped a civilian truck and arrested its passengers and brought this poor woman to be raped all night. Can you imagine the nightmare she had to endure? She was found unconscious the next day, thrown away like garbage somewhere in the area. Villagers found her the next day and brought her to the hospital. Apparently she survived but…to what life? the scars in her soul will last throughout her life, an she is certainly not the only one.
So, how can a civilian vehicle and its passengers that has nothing to do with the conflict be stopped and arrested and the passengers get raped, or brutally killed, which has happened so many times before and the world says nothing? does not react, nothing.
We know it´s a genocide, but why is there´s this silence, it´s as if the world is numb.
