Recently the Russian Deputy Permanent Representative for Russia to the United Nations, Mr Dmitry_Chumakov, asked for support by the international community for the AES, “Alliance of Sahel States”.
We are sharing a few responses to the Russian statements regarding demand for international support of the AES.
Response by Khamidoune Ag Toumast:
To: His Excellency @Dmitry_Chumakov, Deputy Permanent Representative forRussia to the United Nations. The subject is a response to the Russian statements regarding the support of Mali Burkina Faso and Niger.
H.E. the honorable sir,
After all the crimes that Russia has committed against the people of Azawad, who are subjected to systematic genocide by Wagner’s Russian mercenaries, how dare you today ask for international support to those countries that use violence and blood to assert their power by force?
Claiming that Mali, Burkina Faso and the Niger are the main frontline in the war against terrorism is a pathetic attempt to cover up the genocidal crimes of the Azwad people, who claim only their legitimate rights to liberty, dignity and self-determination.
How can you describe the brutal killing of innocent children and women, rape, forced displacement and willful destruction of villages as “Counter-Terrorism”? This is nothing but systematic genocide and state terrorism on all levels.
The silence of the international community and the United Nations on these atrocities does not stop them but enhances their continuity, and represents a blatant betrayal of human rights and the values of justice.
Your statements that say “only Africans can determine what is useful and not useful in fighting terrorism as well as political and economic development options” are blatant hypocrisy when you support the Malian junta and push the region into more blood and suffering. Russia’s support for the armed forces that commit these crimes is a violation of international law and a threat to the stability of the region.
We call on the UN and the international community to bear their moral and humanitarian responsibilities, to pressure Russia to stop its support of this violence and barbarism, and to stand with the people of Azawad who will not be silent until justice is served.
The cries of the people of Azwad for freedom, dignity and truth will rise above all the voices of misguidance and lies they try to broadcast.
With all due respect

Here are a few of the reactions from the social media:
“The AES juntas chased everyone away and turned to Russia, believing it would save them. And now, Russia itself is asking the world to come and save them. That’s all for this.”

“Russia and the Military Councils’ Puppets in the Sahel: Paradoxes, Fake Tears, and Unimaginable Failure.
After expelling UN peacekeeping forces, alienating France, Europe, and the United States, after tearing up the Algerian peace agreement between the Azawadis and the Malian state—and after two years of committing horrific crimes against civilians—Russia and the military councils’ puppets in the Sahel region are now brazenly asking for help from the international community! It’s like setting fire to your neighbor’s house and then borrowing a water hose to put out the fire!”
Akli Sh`kka
“Russia is calling on the international community to support these countries with the grounds of security and stability, but at the same time rejects any foreign influence that does not serve its geopolitical interests, revealing ambiguity in the position.
Instead of working to enhance the sovereignty of these countries and protect the interests of their people, Russia is seeking to impose its own influence, which may complicate the situation and deepen regional conflicts.
The use of the term “rejecting foreign influence” here includes only opposing forces, while their influence has expanded under sources of fake “help,” which might be seen as a continuation of domination and domination under a new cover.”

And we say – It`s beyond us how they have the audacity to ask the international community for help – after first driving away the UN peacekeeping forces, France, Europe, and the United States, plus tearing up the Algerian peace agreement and placing criminal mercenaries who massacre the civilian population – who are torn between two fires and victims of both the terrorist groups and the genocide that is going on performed by the Malian state with the help of these Russian mercenaries.
Notorious for their cruelty against civilians and described by many to be much worse than the terrorist groups they claim to fight – which is just an excuse to kill Azawadians as it seems!? When you look at the violence against the civilians – where is the difference between the Russian mercenaries & Fama duo and the terrorist groups? It`s a question that we have seen being raised many times, both by Azawadians, Malians and others.
