Free people of Azawad,
Valiant youth, fighting women,
Today in Tinzawaten, in this sacred land, witness to so much suffering and glory, we raise our voices to say enough.
Enough contempt, enough blood, enough silence.
Since 1893, our people have resisted.
And in this long march for freedom, we shed our blood in 1963, in 1990, in 2006, in 2012, and most recently in 2023.
Each uprising has been met with fire, betrayal, and blood.
But we are still here.
We have buried our martyrs, but never our hopes.
In Tinzawaten, in July 2024, the youth and defenders of Azawad showed the world that our people will never submit.
The Wagner Column was decimated, right here, by the bravery of our fighters, by the determination of those who prefer to die free than live on their knees.
And today, we pay tribute to the victims of Azawad, who fell under the blows of Turkish drones, dishonorable mercenaries, and the military juntas of the Sahel who kill our children to establish their power through fear.
But the blood shed will never be in vain.
It is the seed of our future.
Mali has no legitimacy on the lands of Azawad.
It is an occupier, arrived through the colonialists, never through the will of the people.
And make no mistake: Mali only holds onto Azawad thanks to foreign mercenaries.
Without Wagner, without Turkish drones, without foreign auxiliaries and militias, Mali would not last a month on our soil.
It has neither the support of the people, nor the moral strength, nor the military capacity to govern Azawad.
It rules only through fear, lies, and imported violence.
When a criminal Malian drone violates Algerian airspace, and Algeria shoots it down, it sends a message of firmness.
And it is a sign of hope for oppressed peoples.
We thank the Algerian people for welcoming our refugees, for their fraternal hospitality, and for their constant generosity in the darkest moments.
We express our deep gratitude to the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, which remains a shelter, a support, and a voice for peoples seeking justice and dignity.
But we also call on Algeria to take a historic step:
Officially recognize the Azawad cause as a national and legitimate cause, on a par with that of Western Sahara.
This recognition would be an act of political courage, pan-African solidarity, and consistency with the values of self-determination that Algeria has upheld since independence.
Since 1960, Algeria has tried to stabilize Mali.
But the governments in Bamako have always betrayed.
Betrayed the agreements, betrayed peace, betrayed their word.
Brothers and sisters,
We appeal to those who still justify the junta’s crimes:
Return to your people. Choose honor. Join freedom.
The creation of the Azawad Liberation Front is more than a political act.
It is a symbol of unity, a banner that unites all tribes, all regions, all generations. We have only one enemy: injustice.
The only lasting peace lies in the separation of Azawad and Mali.
Two peoples, two paths, two futures.
And we call on the UN, the African Union, and all free peoples to rethink colonial borders, those artificial lines that fuel conflicts and tragedies.
Today, here in Tinzawaten,
the youth of Azawad are taking up the torch.
We no longer ask to exist.
We are asserting our existence.
Azawad will live. Azawad will triumph.
Through memory, justice, and freedom.
