The Azawad Liberation Front warned in a statement issued on Wednesday, October 15, in which they strongly condemns the decision of the Malian authorities to grant the SOREM Mali S.A. company the right to exploit the “Intahka” mine in Gao, considering it an illegal act and systematic plundering of Azawad’s resources.
The Azawad Liberation Front condemned what it described as the illegal decision issued by the Malian authorities, and the granting of a license to the company “Soroum Mali SARL” to exploit a gold mine in the Gao area, considering that the decision represents an extension of the policy of “plundering natural resources” practiced by the Malian authorities in Azawad for years without any legal basis or legitimacy.
The Azawad Liberation Front stated that granting this license constitutes a flagrant violation of the rights of Azawad’s residents to their natural resources, pointing out that any foreign company or institution engaged in economic or mining activities on Azawad lands without legitimate licenses issued by the Azawad authorities will be fully accountable for its actions.
The Azawad Liberation Front affirmed its determination to defend by all legitimate means the rights of Azawad’s residents and their wealth, and to continue the struggle against against all forms of plunder and economic collusion by the Malian authorities in Bamako.
