Azawadian Heroes Fighting for Freedom and Justice for their People.
On February 16, 2025, an Azawadian army patrol, consisting of seven fighters, was ambushed by Russian Wagner mercenaries on the outskirts of Kidal. Despite the targeting of their vehicle with a thermal guided missile and the scarcity of ammunition, a few of them returned to their positions safely, while five of them were martyred in a battle that lasted for hours. They fought under the slogan, “Victory or martyrdom,” in a fearless challenge that did not know fear or surrender.
This patrol was on a special reconnaissance mission in the border strip between Azawad and Algeria, and was not tasked with fighting a direct battle. Nevertheless, they bravely advanced and refused to retreat.
This incident highlights the determination of the men of Azawad, who do not retreat even in the harshest of circumstances, to show the world that they will continue the battle until the liberation of the last inch.
We can only say what is pleasing to God, and we emphasize that the blood of these heroes will not be wasted, but is a crown of honor and pride for the people of Azawad.
The heroism that the Azawadis are showing for the sake of freedom of their people and their land should tell something about someone who fight not for money (like the Wagners) but for freedom. May God have mercy on them, brave and honorable fighters of justice, we raise our hands ✌️in recognition, respect, gratitude and salutation.
The courage shown by the Azawadian people in the face of occupying forces, such as the Russian Wagner mercenaries, is a lesson in heroism and sacrifice. Abdel Rahman Ag Alhadhar and his companions, who stood in front of eight Wagner vehicles, gave their lives for the principles they hold dear.

“The Azawadian martyrs sowed the seeds of freedom, we must make them flourish.” Ag Akal
This kind of sacrifice and dedication to the defense of land and freedom reflects the spirit of heroic resistance fighters, who are not afraid to die for their cause. A martyr does not die, but remains in the memory of his people, engraved in the hearts of future generations, always reminding us of the importance of resistance in the face of injustice and aggression.

According to verified information, the young revolutionaries of the Front pour la Libération de l’Azawad (FLA), who were on board the vehicle ambushed by the Malian Armed Forces and Russian mercenaries before falling to their deaths, killed 12 Wagner elements, set fire to three of their vehicles and caused considerable other damage.
They resisted without giving in an inch during the fight for the freedom of their people and land.
“Our land is not just soil, it is our memory and pride. We belong to it with all our hearts, and we will never give it up. Freedom is not just a dream, but a right that we fight for every day. #Resilience #Dignity #Land_of_the_Ancestors”
