THE UK HAS IMPOSED SANCTIONS ON WAGNER

The UK has imposed sanctions on #Wagner for human rights violations against civilians in #Azawad and other African countries.

The sanctions target Wagner’s operations, accusing the group of contributing to instability and exploiting local resources for Moscow’s interests. This move reflects a broader effort to counter Russian influence across Africa.

Three private mercenary groups are sanctioned including the Wagner Group’s successor called Africa Corps and 11 persons that are associated with Russian proxies.

It involves dozens of new sanctions against Russia, targeting African mercenary groups and people involved in the Ukraine war as well as a nerve agent attack in the UK.
