THE WAR PRISONERS IN AZAWAD ARE TREATED WELL

War prisoners during Ramadan 2025.

More than they deserve…

Yes, more than they deserve… in fact, a lot more than they deserve, seeing to all the evil things that they have done to the people of Azawad (killing of civilians, rapes, looting, burning of villages, poisoning of animals and people, arbitrary arrests and kidnappings, and etc!!)

These prisoners were captured by the Azawad forces during the battle of Achabrache eight months ago (the battle of Tinzawatene) and in the picture you can see Colonel Ibrahim Sidibe (Ibrahim Toure) the man that shouted Azawad so loud in a video and who was seen in another video (taken from the captured or killed, Wagner mercenaries phones) where he together with other Fama militias and Wagners were looting the people of Azawad and stole mostly from women and children….

And apparently they are alive and well as seen in the photos which are recent.

🛑 And this brings us to the point of this article.

These prisoners are living in better conditions than the Malian army, not because they receive privileges, but because Azawad fighters treat prisoners humanely, unlike the Malian army, which practices execution and torture against innocent people.

The Battle of Achabrache marked a turning point, breaking the myth of Wagner and revealing the fragility of the Malian army on Azawad soil, where its bases fell one after the other, leaving behind defeated soldiers and prisoners treated with more dignity than under a government that doesn’t even care about their fate. These prisoners are just numbers for the Bamako government, while in the Azawad they are proof of the failure of the military occupation.

This contradiction is enough to reveal who the real terrorists are and who the defenders of a just cause are.

The occupation does not last, justice will be done, and a people fighting for their freedom will not be defeated. The real issue here is not the status of Ibrahim Toure, but what it reveals about the nature of the conflict, where prisoners enjoy humane treatment while civilians suffer the cruelty of the Malian regime.

The Azawad forces have proven that they treat prisoners according to humanitarian principles, while the #FAMA forces practice summary executions, torture, and the burning of villages with complete impunity. As for those who disregard the fate of their own captured soldiers, they should instead ask themselves the right questions:

Why is their army incapable of resisting the Azawad resistance? Why are defeats and captures repeated with each clash? And why doesn’t the Bamako government dare seriously demand the return of its prisoners?

The answer is simple: for them, these prisoners are mere numbers, while for Azawad, they are further proof of the failure of the military occupation and the victory of the struggle for liberation.

History is being written, and future generations will remember how the people of Azawad resisted with honor, while the occupier fell into the trap of its arrogance. People who fight for their freedom are never defeated, no matter the violence and force used to impose an artificial reality. Occupation and tyranny never last, and those who commit these atrocities will be held accountable, if not today, then tomorrow, because justice may be delayed, but it never dies.
