We condemn in the strongest terms the serious abuses committed against the civilian populations of Azawad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On June 23, 2026, four civilians were killed in Zarho, in the Timbuktu region. The victims are:
\u2014Abdoul Wahab Mohamed Hamada
\u2014Ousmane Sidi Mohamed Youssef
\u2014Abdoul Majid Ma\u00efga
\u2014 Alhassane Bounkana<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to reports, the victims suffered extremely cruel mutilations, and their limbs were allegedly arranged to form a swastika. This symbol, universally associated with Nazism, evokes the crimes against humanity, massacres, racial hatred, antisemitism, and persecutions that marked the 20th century.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond this tragedy, the people of Azawad continue to suffer repeated violence, massacres of civilians, the destruction of livelihoods, and the burning or destruction of homes, pastures, wells, and boreholes essential to the survival of their communities. These acts contribute to the worsening suffering of the population and their forced displacement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inouhagh International considers these acts to be an open genocide that must be called by its name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We believe that the perpetrators, their accomplices, and those in command must be held accountable. As Africa Corps is under the authority of the Russian Ministry of Defense, any independent investigation must also examine command and support responsibilities related to the operations conducted on the ground.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We call upon the United Nations, human rights organizations, relevant international mechanisms, and the entire international community to launch independent and impartial investigations to establish the facts, identify those responsible, and ensure that justice is served for the victims.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The protection of civilian populations must remain an absolute obligation. No military objective can justify acts of cruelty, mutilation, or terror directed against defenseless men, women, and children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We express our solidarity with the families of the victims and with all civilian populations affected by this violence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
