Ten civilians were killed, including women and children, in what appears to be a methodical punitive operation against nomadic populations already weakened by repeated violence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Testimonies gathered in the localities of Razelma, Gargando, Amaranane, and Nijhaltate describe a patrol divided into several detachments, operating simultaneously in multiple locations, combining summary executions, arson, looting, and destruction of civilian property.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\"><strong>Amaranane: Four men slaughtered and then burned.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">One of the detachments struck in Amaranane, where four men from the Kel Aghazaf community, Sharifane of Razelma, were executed in particularly atrocious circumstances. They were slaughtered before being burned by Russian soldiers accompanied by Malian soldiers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\"><strong>The victims are:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"has-mono-2-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-d6e733690701121c054d5f5f2124b063\">Oumar AG Mohamed, nicknamed Idabsa<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-mono-2-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-fc0abcfbe0c81e96a441e26b7d5a5550\">Hamad Ahmed AG Mohamed AG Aamri<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-mono-2-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-28c67e5937265aacf5ada13901859f50\">Mohamedoune AG Mohamed AG Aamri<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-mono-2-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-62ff3a6a91d72c8689e768a9b6a912d6\">The son of a man named Oumar AG Kamoussa<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">A resident described a scene of &#8220;silent brutality,&#8221; without warning or prior questioning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Tissikoreye and Zou\u00e9ra: Systematic Looting and Destruction:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">The day before these executions, the same patrol had passed through the villages of Tissikoreye and Zou\u00e9ra, leaving behind a scene of devastation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\"><strong>A resident, who was with his father and uncles when the soldiers arrived, recounts:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">\u201cThey went everywhere, in Tissikoreye and Zou\u00e9ra, in my father\u2019s village. They searched every hut, tore open sacks of grain, and then killed animals.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">In Tissikoreye, several houses and grain stores were burned, depriving families of shelter and what little food they have left in the middle of the dry season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">In Zou\u00e9ra, shops were dynamited by the Russians of the Afrika Korps and their Malian auxiliaries, sowing panic among the inhabitants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\"><strong>Nijhaltate: A Planned Massacre<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">The deadliest massacre took place in Nijhaltate, a village administratively part of the Gargando commune, where soldiers opened fire on civilians sitting in the shade of trees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\"><strong>The identified victims are:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"has-mono-2-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-8a2db1a2e4d4217c9210f402218b845b\">Attaye AG Alladi, 41 years old<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-mono-2-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-1536ef074059900ec03f5a24301f0353\">Mohamed Aboubacrine AG Hamadi, 38 years old.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-mono-2-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-dc292fe6c0dff308a9615fd7b4a52680\">Tafa Walat Attaye AG Alladi, a young girl.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-mono-2-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-86f64ffc0f2d32bac6bf1752b0e583ef\">A second unidentified girl.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-mono-2-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-5d12eef4d2378eed7c00d31df73e7d8e\">Fadimata Walet Efad AG Ahmedou AG Lissou, 20 years old, wife of the slain victim, Mohamed Aboubacrine AG Hamadi.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-mono-2-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-3763592be04f590987c73fdea20785b8\">Two unidentified women.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\"><strong>But the actual death toll in the village is much higher. The following names, also from Nijhaltate, have been recorded:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"has-mono-2-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-ab04677c26b6249929279770207d5186\">Takouberte Walet Ibrahim AG Hamadi.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-mono-2-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-1f73e85f75436c0ad5f645ca288d1b19\">A\u00efcha Walet Hammani, 28 years old, mother of four.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-mono-2-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-81fb91716e7efee1893fc2f044834e83\">Timma Walat Hamadi, mother of A\u00efcha and sister of Mohamed Aboubacrine AG Hamadi.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-mono-2-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-0da7ca079addd04be43a398d93a45ca4\">Hayou Walat Hamadi, sister of Timma and Mohamed Aboubacrine.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">In total, eleven Tuareg victims from the Kel Ansar community, originally from Razelma and Tin-Aicha, were among those killed and wounded in Nijhaltate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">According to several witnesses, the village was bombarded with 12.7 mm heavy machine guns and rocket launchers, causing irreversible injuries and the immediate death of several women and children. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Soldiers then collected most of the shell casings to cover up the crime: only one 12.7 mm casing was found at the scene. They also took away the people they killed in Nijhaltate and three women, one of whom succumbed to her injuries en route and was buried with the other bodies. The two other women wounded in Nijhaltate arrived at the Goundam hospital late Wednesday night, November 26.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\"><strong>An eyewitness recounts:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">\u201cThey came to kill. They didn\u2019t ask any questions. They didn\u2019t look for any weapons. They shot our families as soon as they arrived at the village entrance and took away the bodies and three wounded women, including a teenager.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Three wounded women, including a teenager, were abducted by the soldiers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\"><strong>A population already traumatized by drone strikes:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">The region was already in mourning. Two weeks earlier, on November 13, 2025, Malian drone strikes had killed 13 Tuareg civilians in Tangata and Eghachar n\u2019Tirikene, in the Gargando district, decimating entire families and creating a climate of lasting panic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"\">\u201cOur people are caught in the crossfire: JNIM terrorists, Russian Afrika Korps soldiers, and Malian army drones,\u201d summarized a local leader in Razelma.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">\u201cThis is no longer a war against armed groups. It\u2019s a war against our families.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">The inhabitants of the area, primarily nomadic herders living around Lake Faguibine, nevertheless reaffirm their determination to remain on their land.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">\u201cWe would rather die here than flee to Mauritania or Algeria,\u201d confides a herder from Gargando.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Despite the scale of the violence, no investigation has been opened. The Malian Armed Forces (FAMa) and Africa Corps have not issued any statements. Impunity is total, lament local organizations, which denounce the increasing number of \u201csweeping missions\u201d against Tuareg, Arab, and Fulani civilians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">The arrival of Africa Corps in 2024, intended to bolster Bamako\u2019s security capabilities, has instead contributed to a dramatic increase in documented abuses against nomadic communities. These acts of violence, committed far from outside eyes, reopen the historical wounds of northern Mali and fuel the risk of reprisals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">A notable from Razelma, his voice choked with anger, concluded:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">\u201cWhat\u2019s happening is no longer a military operation.
