New victims of Amassin massacre found: Wagner mercenaries and the Malian army are involved.
Six people were found on the morning of may 6, 2024 in Amassine. They were killed and burned by the Russian Wagner mercenairies and the Malian army FAMa.
There has been a series of massacres on civilians in the area of the Amassin, Task, Intabaz and in the Kidal province and other large parts of Azawad. These massacres has been carried out by the Russian Wagner mercenaries with the participation of the Malian army.
It`s been indicated by local reports that these massacres are aimed at destablize the area and gain military control over it. The escalation of violence in Azawad is of great concern to the local population and the international community, and calls for urgent intervention by the relevant authorities to protect civilians and put an end to these flagrant human rights violations.
We are surprised by the silence of the international media and the international community about what is happening in this region, as if nothing had happened to this authentic community, the Tuareg community. These horrific crimes continue without receiving the necessary attention from international bodies and major media outlets, which increases the suffering of the local population who live in constant fear of the recurrence of such atrocities.
It is worth noting that the IMOHAG International Organization is the only one that documented these crimes, while the Azawad authorities and the IMOHAG Organization are still the only ones seeking to investigate these crimes. We strongly condemn the silence of the rest of the human rights organizations. We also demand self-determination for the Azawad people to guarantee their rights and protect them from these ongoing violations. These events reinforce the demands of the international community to monitor the situation in Azawad and provide the necessary support to the victims and those affected.
