The Civilian Tragedy:
More than 1,500 civilians have been killed in cold blood during field operations conducted by the Malian Army and Wagner (name was later changed to the Africa Corps) mercenaries, with the Moura massacre being the most prominent example.
The Reality on the Ground:
Approximately 10,000 total fatalities since Goita seized power, with violence surging by 118%. The Bamako-Wagner alliance has turned the region into an execution ground amid a disturbing international blackout.
The Execution Methods:
Mass summary executions were carried out, with bodies burned in trenches.
Documentation from Human Rights Watch released satellite imagery showing new mass graves and extensive burning marks in the town following the operation.
