THEY TRY TO ERASE THE NAME AZAWAD.
That the name Azawad does not and did not exist and was never written on any maps is nothing but a big lie.
The name Azawad is written on hundreds of maps simce the 1600s.
The territory of Azawad has a rich history and is equally mentioned in history books and travel writings.
A genocide is not only done physically, like how they indiscriminately massacre people of certain ethnicities in Azawad – arabs (moors) tuaregs and fulanis. But erasing those people’s existence also culturally and historically, is a major part.
There is an interesting and very important article posted om X, written by Oumar Al Ansary, about how the Malian authorities have erased the name Azawad from their official documents. Obviously in an attempt to make the world believe it never existed!
Erasing the Azawadian people from their ancestral land, and with the people, also erasing the name Azawad and its meaning – as if it never existed, and the genocide will be completed.
The thought process in their fabricated lie seems to be something like this:
– If the name and the Azawad territory “never existed”, then they cannot be an indigenous Azawadian people.
– If the Azawadians does not exist as a people, but are invaders coming from “some unknown location”… then they must be “terrorists” .
– If they are “terrorists” then they are also “legal targets” for the Malian army and the Russian mercenaries for indiscriminate massacres and bombing…
Despite the proven facts that many names of places and cities in Azawad are in Tamasheq, the language of the Tuaregs.
Despite the fact that the tifinagh writings on the rocks is proof of their ancestors existence and of their identity.
Despite the fact that they are born there since generations.
Despite the fact that the name Azawad is a part of both old pre-colonial and colonial maps, and in many old historical and travel writings, evidence of a desert people, of an entire well structured desert society, of an old rich history.
Which the Malian authorities try so hard to erase.
THE NAME AZAWAD DISAPPEARED FROM OFFICIAL MALIAN DOCUMENTS IN 2025!

A gradual retreat from accepting the name to controlling Its meaning. Then replacing It. And finally erasing It from the official documents.
