MORE MANIFESTATIONS IN AZAWAD AGAINST THE BOMBING OF CIVILIANS WITH CLUSTER BOMBS.

Their use of cluster bombs is a disgrace to humanity and may constitute a war crime.

We call upon the United Nations, the African Union, the European Union, human rights organizations, and all free-thinking people to open their eyes to what is happening in Azawad.

Today, May 24, 2026:

The protests against the bombing of civilians are increasing in Azawad. From Kidal and Tinzawatene to Talhendak region. The Azawadi people in the Talhendak region have staged a protest condemning the systematic and ongoing bombing of cities and areas in Azawadi by the Malian terrorist army, as well as the use of internationally banned cluster bombs.

It was a protest rally condemning the crimes committed by the Russian-backed Malian coup-led Transitional Council against the Azawadi people.

“We, the people of Azawad, refuse to die in silence. We refuse to allow our lands to become testing grounds for prohibited weapons, indiscriminate bombings, and crimes committed against innocent civilian populations.

For months, Mali and its Russian ally have been sowing fear, destruction, and death in our territories. Villages are being bombed, families displaced, children terrorized, and civilians massacred under the silent gaze of an international community that is still slow to act.

The people of Azawad have the right to live free, with dignity, and in peace on their land. This right is not a privilege: it is a fundamental right recognized by international law.

They denounce the serious violations committed by the Malian army and the Russian mercenaries of the Africa Corps group.

The Charter of the United Nations affirms the right of peoples to self-determination.

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights protects the right to life, security, and human dignity.

The Geneva Conventions prohibit attacks against civilians and war crimes.

The Convention on Cluster Munitions prohibits the use, production, and stockpiling of these inhumane weapons that maim and kill long after conflicts have ended.

Mali has ratified several international instruments for the protection of human rights and humanitarian law. Russia itself cannot place itself above the fundamental principles of international humanitarian law. Yet today, these commitments are being trampled upon.

We strongly condemn the use of weapons that indiscriminately strike civilians and combatants. Cluster munitions are weapons of terror. They leave behind death, mutilation, and generations condemned to live in fear.

Their use is a disgrace to humanity and may constitute a war crime.

We call upon the United Nations, the African Union, the European Union, human rights organizations, and all free-thinking people to open their eyes to what is happening in Azawad.

Silence in the face of massacres is complicity. Silence in the face of crimes against civilian populations is a betrayal of universal human values. The people of Azawad will remain standing.

Despite the bombs. Despite the threats. Despite attempts to erase them.

We have the right to live.

We have the right to peace.

We have the right to justice.

And no state, no army, no foreign power will be able to bury the truth or stifle the voice of a people who refuse to disappear.
