DOUBLE STANDARDS: WHY IS THE UNITED NATIONS TURNING A BLIND EYE TO THE MASSACRES OF CIVILIANS IN AZAWAD?
Many observers are asking the same question:
Why is the United Nations turning a blind eye to the massacres and bombings against civilians and miners in Azawad, done by the very same criminal junta and the Afrika Korps (Wagner) mercenaries – that they so quickly issued a statement claiming that an investigation is called for regarding the killing of Malian soldiers – who, ordered by this same junta kill innocent civilians daily on Azawad territory ?
At the same time, they ignored the documented massacres committed against civilians (Arabs (Moors), Tuaregs, Fulani, and others) in northern Mali, Azawad, for many years, despite repeated calls for an independent investigation into these massacres.
There are tons of reports, witnessing and solid media evidence, which also are held by some of these organizations. And still nothing happens, not until Malian soldiers (who massacre civilians daily), are killed.
Isn`t this selectivity the highest form of hypocrisy?
Of course, if it turns out that there was a war crime done, it should be investigated, absolutely. That is not the issue here.
But shouldn´t also massacres and atrocities on civilians including small babies which has been going on for so many years, also be equally reacted on and investigated?
It is this double standard that is the issue. And which raises questions among observers regarding the credibility of the United Nations, Amnesty and others.
How shall people in the world be able to trust the “United Nations” ? or other humanitarian organizations?
Yes, questions are asked – what is their mission really? why are they selective with who can have human rights, while at the same time their very statutes says everyone has the right to human rights?
Doesn`t all human beings have the same right to live, the same value? why do they see the crime of only one side but not the other?
Obviously hypocrisy rules.

The world is meticulously watching the people of Azawad being decimated alive. Faced with horrific massacres, ethnic cleansing, relentless aerial bombardments, and the demographic replacement of Azawad’s civilian population by others from elsewhere—even from very far away—it has become clear that the rights of indigenous peoples remain a dead letter. It has become clear that international law is nothing but a pretty lie, acting only out of self-interest.
When civilians are massacred in full view of everyone by known actors; when civilians are burned alive; When they amuse themselves by tearing out the tongues of living people and beating them to death; when they amuse themselves by dismembering human bodies and drawing whatever they want with their organs.… in the face of all this, international law does nothing!
For 64 years, neither international law nor the international community has ever acted in Azawad, not even with a simple declaration. Isn’t this complicity?
It seems that the international community and the African Union are not there to restore JUSTICE and impose PEACE, but only to enrich themselves.

WHEREVER THEY ARE, TUAREG PEOPLE FACE PERSECUTION
Civilian Azawadian refugees at the Algerian border, fleeing the persecutions by the Russian Afrika Korps mercenaries and the Malian junta.
Freedom of expression is a right guaranteed by Article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 1948.
“Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers.”
So allow me to speak frankly and without any filter today.
Wherever they are, the Tuareg people face persecution: in Niger, in Libya, where they are even denied citizenship, in Algeria, and even more tragically in Mali, where their legitimate aspiration for independence is growing.
In Algeria, despite a professed sense of pride, it is our brothers who are being slaughtered in these gold mines located on the very land of their ancestors. It is they who are being murdered, or imprisoned at best, for the sole crime of having tried to deliver food and essential supplies to their grieving families across the border, families bereaved by the daily realities of Mali and now by the junta.
Today, the Tinzawatène wall erects an artificial barrier at the very heart of homes: it fractures families, tears mothers apart, isolates a wife from her husband, a mother from her son.
Yet, this human tragedy has never elicited the slightest compassion from Algerian diplomacy. Algeria has sided with the Malian government, openly displaying its desire to obstruct the emancipation of Azawad, pushing cynicism to the point of denying displaced persons even basic refugee status.
Certainly, it is the only nation to refuse, before the Security Council, to label its people as terrorists, but that is not enough.
What a peculiar paradox! Algeria presents itself as the defender of Western Sahara, lavishes support on the Malian and Nigerien juntas, and deploys aid across the continent, all while completely neglecting the people of Azawad. Even more painful, this complacency has never provoked outrage from our brothers in Algeria. The government in Algiers brutally represses any demonstration by Azawadians on its soil, even as it publicly encourages and funds rallies in support of the Palestinian people or the Sahrawi cause.
Some will argue that Palestine is a holy land. Certainly! But access to life is a universal and inalienable right that takes precedence over everything else, regardless of the faith or affiliation of those who suffer.
I will also address those who will tell me that we consume Algerian products.
If we consume Algerian products, it is not a privilege granted to us: we pay dearly for it, with our blood and, all too often, with our lives.
To the youth of Azawad: it is now up to them to grasp the immensity of the responsibility that rests upon them. They must demand, starting today, the unconditional respect due to our people and our mothers.
As for the leaders and the Tuareg community of Algeria, it is up to them to demand that their state grant them the very rights it claims to defend for other nations!

Residents on Tin Zaouatine’s Algerian border strip witnessed on the night of July 30, from 2 to 3 a.m, the arrival of three (03) suicide drones belonging to the Malian army and Wagner mercenaries targeting border areas to Algeria in the Azawad region. The Azawad Liberation Front [FLA] repelled them with anti-aircraft defenses until their downing.

And few days ago in the morning, the same type of “Shahed” suicide drones belonging to the Malian military and the Russian African Corps targeted and destroyed a medical clinic and a commercial area in the two border towns of Talhandak and Tinzaouaten with Algeria. The airstrikes resulted in loss of civilian lives and a destroyed medical clinic.
Kal Akal documents 62 human rights violations in Azawad during July, including 44 killings.
The Association for the Defense of Human Rights in Azawad, the Kal Akal Association is a member organization of civil society whose headquarters are located in the Kidal region.
The criminal junta has reached an unprecedented level of madness.
